THE KITE RUNNER book SUMMARY is Khalid Hosseini’s first novel. Which was published on May 23, 2003. The KITE RUNNER story is written in Kabul, Afghanistan, which is the story of two friends.

2. Hassan- Aamir’s best friend

3. Sohrab- Hassan’s boy

4. Rahim Khan- Aamir’s childhood friend

Aamir and Hassan both live with their father. The mother of both has passed away. Aamir and his father are Pashtuns. Hassan and his father are Hazara. At that time, Hazara was not given low status and respect as much as Pashtun. They all live together as a family. And respected each other.

THE KITE RUNNER SUMMARY:-

One day both friends are flying kites. When the kite is falling apart, Hassan rushes to pick it up. He finds the kite in a street. There he also gets some boys. Who makes fun of him and treats him very badly. Aamir sees all these things. And he throws a small stone him on his eye. After which that boy leaves from there. Aamir thinks at that time that he will take revenge on this day one day.

A few days later a kite tournament takes place. In which both friends participate. As Aamir bites the kite, Hassan rushes to pick him up. But this time he has to face Assef. Hassan does not give him a kite even after he says it again and again. So Assef beats him badly and rapes him.

Hassan is horrified after this incident. After a few days, his condition starts deteriorating. He also tells all these things to his father. But his father doesn’t believe him. And he turns out to be wrong.

PART-2 

A few days later, there was an atmosphere of war in Afghanistan. Because of which all people get scared. And move to live in other cities. Aamir and his father also settle first in Peshawar and later in California. His father used to work at a gas station there. Aamir also joins the university to improve his writing art. After some time he grows up. And gets married. And they later find out that they cannot have children.

PART-3

After a few days, Aamir gets a call from Rahim. And he calls her to meet. When Aamir goes to meet her, he learns that Hassan has died and has a son. One officer has spoken to him for adoption. And he also tells us that he is in trouble and we have to help him. But both of them do not know where the son of Hassan is.

Now Aamir searches for Sohrab. And he learns that he is in an orphanage. Where an officer comes every day and takes some money and takes the girls. Sometimes he even takes the boys. Now he keeps an eye on an officer. And he finally gets Sohrab.

Now Aamir meets the Taliban official to leave Sohrab. The officer he meets is a boss. Now he says that he has to fight him to take Sohrab. Only if he defeats him can he take him. Now their fight begins. That officer beats badly to Aamir even he breaks his bones. But shortly after Sohrab uses a slingshot to fire a brass ball into Assef’s left eye And they both run away from there.

Now Aamir completes the orphanage adoption. And takes Sohrab with him.
